Samsung now has more apps for your Smart TV

Every so often, someone asks us when there will be more apps available for a TV. You know who you are, and now you also have an answer, with Samsung announcing a few more apps available for its Smart TVs from today.

The new apps released today include access to Telstra’s “BigPond Movies, TV and Sport,” as well as apps for “Quickflix,” “Wiggle Time TV,” Channel Seven’s “Plus7”, and even Samsung’s own “Music Hub”.

“Samsung is delivering easy access to a wide range of content and applications from the comfort of the lounge room,” said Evan Manolis, Group Manager for the AV department of Samsung Electronics Australia. “We’ve worked closely with a variety of leading content providers to enable consumers to stream thousands of music videos, a wide range of Hollywood movies, and TV shows direct to their compatible Samsung Smart TVs.”

While the apps are free, charges may apply for the various services on offer, such as the $6.99 per HD movie on BigPond, the $14.99 monthly fee for Quickflix streaming, and the $4.95 monthly cost for the 24 hour Wiggles network.
