Rumour: Samsung Galaxy S3 to land on March 13?

Samsung may have told everyone that it wouldn’t launch its new Galaxy smartphone in Spain at MWC like everyone else, but from what we’re hearing, a launch date isn’t too far off.

The Australian division of the company has made mention of an event happening on March 13 which cites “the future of Samsung technology” will be there.

A little bit of research later and we find that this isn’t the first time a March 13 release date has been suggested for the new handset, with at least one other international website suggesting a March 13 date in early February.

We wouldn’t be surprised if this is the announcement of the Galaxy S3 smartphone, although Samsung has also yet to show the Galaxy Note locally, so it could easily relate to either.

Meanwhile, rumours are currently suggesting that the new Galaxy smartphone will feature a 4.8 inch screen with at least 1280×720 HD resolution, Android 4.0, and a ceramic back instead of the plastic finish we normally see on Samsung’s smartphones.

With March 13 only a few weeks away, we’ll certainly know the answer soon enough.
