Facebook Timeline coming… whether you like it or not

Facebook's new "cover" image is big, allowing you to make more of an impact and say who you are in the first image visitors see.

Last year, Facebook unveiled some changes to the way its profiles looked, giving friends and visitors a full dateline of your life. Some of you have chosen to ignore it for the moment, but you won’t get that choice soon.

The feature that not only turns your online life into a digital dated biography, but also comes with a new look and “cover image”, making your profile look bigger and more something you control.

If you have tried and it like it, great. But if you’ve been doing your best to avoid it, bad news: it’s coming whether you like it or not.

Facebook has this week announced that Timeline will be rolled out to all members over the coming weeks, regardless of if you prefer the old look or not.

The good news is that you don’t have to customise Timeline to look special, and you can just ignore any attempts to make your page look nicer, though you will be stuck with the new look.
