Right before Christmas, Acer has decided to unleash another tablet on Australians, with the 10.1 inch A200 hitting stores now, with a note that the new Android 4.0 operating system will be coming in January.
The latest tablet to join Acer’s staple of devices, the A200 features the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor that’s been making its way into a lot of tablets this year, as well as a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, full-size USB port, microSD slot, and either 8GB or 16GB of storage built-in.
From today, we’ll see the A200 run with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but in January 2012, Acer plans on introducing Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s not yet know if the updated operating system will make its way across Acer’s other tablets, but given the similar hardware underneath, we’re hopeful.
For now, interested customers can grab the 10.1 inch Acer A200 from $349 RRP, but only from Harvey Norman as it’s currently exclusive.
What’s the main difference between this and the A500?
I bought one of these on the 1st day of sale from Harvey Norman for $445! 3 days later the price was lowered to $349 as part of the boxing day sale. I called them up and also went back to the store to complain. They refused to refund the difference as they said that the $349 price was below their cost price and that $445 was the rrp! It took a bit of time and work – but what finally convinced them was your article above which i printed out and presented to them…thanks Gadget Guy!
